Integrated photoabsorption strength and sum rules for a bound Dirac particle
1985
Relativistic effects in the integrated total photoabsorption cross section are discussed using a simple model of a Dirac particle bound in a central potential of scalar or vector type. The integrated strength is calculated explicitly and compared to a new relativistic extension of the TRK-sum rule using positive energy projection and to predictions from dispersion relations. M1 and E2 sum rules are also considered. In all cases the integrated strength exceeds the classical sum rule up to a few percent. The dispersion sum rule cannot be compared directly to the integrated strength since it contains a negative contribution from pair production in the potential field which is of the order of a…
Artificial Potential Field Simulation Framework for Semi-Autonomous Car Conception
2017
International audience; Artificial potential field is investigated to provide a high level of synergy between driver and semi-autonomous vehicle. This article presents a framework developed to test the performances of this approach. Stand-alone performances of this system is tested for a lane keeping and cruise control application. Performances are promising and future development is discussed.
Collision Avoidance with Potential Fields Based on Parallel Processing of 3D-Point Cloud Data on the GPU
2014
In this paper we present an experimental study on real-time collision avoidance with potential fields that are based on 3D point cloud data and processed on the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). The virtual forces from the potential fields serve two purposes. First, they are used for changing the reference trajectory. Second they are projected to and applied on torque control level for generating according nullspace behavior together with a Cartesian impedance main control loop. The GPU algorithm creates a map representation that is quickly accessible. In addition, outliers and the robot structure are efficiently removed from the data, and the resolution of the representation can be easily ad…
